Our Process
Phase 1: Concepts
So… you want to build a house and naturally your first question is, “How much is this gonna cost me?” Totally fair. But when every home is a one-off, there’s no neat little price chart we can hand you. That’s why we’ve created our Concepts Phase; to answer that big, burning question without guessing or pulling numbers from thin air. It’s where ideas meet reality and is essentially your feasibility study. By the end, you’ll know what your dream could cost and you’ll get a sneak peek at what it might look like. Spoiler: It’s exciting!
1(A). Pinterest Board
This is where it starts… pin away! We’ll stalk your dream homes like it’s our part-time job (it kinda is). You show us what you love and we’ll start to see your style take shape through our shared Pinterest Board.
1(B). Concept Kick-Off
This meeting is usually a few hours long joined by our CEO (Rodelle), Designer (Brittany) and Site Superintendent (Kurt). We go through your Pinterest board like detectives, ask you a million questions about your needs, wants, loves and hates (some you’ve never thought about), and get crystal clear on how your home should look, feel and function.
1(C). Preliminary Floor Plan
It’s time to hit the drawing board (literally). Now that we’re crystal clear on your vision, our in-house designer will begin drafting a floor plan built around you; not your neighbour, not your second cousin… you.
1(E). 3D Model
Why waste effort imagining it when you can see it? Your preliminary drawings will get thrown into a 3D model right off the hop so you can take a digital stroll through your future home from your very own computer. Like it? Love it? Want to rage-quit and start over? Let’s figure that out now.
1(G). Preliminary Budget
Now that we have a plan, we can give you a budget that isn’t just a wild guess. It’s still early, but it’s grounded in your house; not a cookie-cutter template.
1(H). Concept Presentation
Grab a coffee (or wine) and get ready to walk through your first official look at your custom home! 3D model, rough budget, mood boards – the works! This is where it starts to feel real and ultimately gives you peace of mind on the feasibility of your custom home before investing into a 6-month design phase.

Before you can build your dream home, you need to know what’s possible… and what it’s going to cost. Our Concept Phase takes the guesswork out, giving you a clear plan, a ballpark budget, and the first glimpse at your one-of-a-kind home. This feasibility process is your guide to whether you want to move to the next step (Design Phase), or pump the brakes (maybe your home’s rough budget came in higher than planned). Either way, the Concept Phase serves a purpose in providing you with more clarity on your home building journey.
